Hello All,
Just wanted to introduce myself to the board. I have been researching dogs, German Shepherd’s in particular for companion/house/protector dog for the last few months. I have own two dogs (mutts) in the past. When I was a kid, I guess around nine or 10 years old, I found a stray German Shepherd Dog that I really became attached to. This animal seemed to connect with me and understand every thing I wanted it to do. My father at the time was very afraid of dogs and would not let me keep it. So ever since then I have always admired and wanted a GSD. I am looking at this coming spring 2006 for a GSD puppy.
Hi Steven. That's great that you are researcing ahead of time. There are lots of great folks here, many with GSDs. I have one as well. Welcome to the board. You'll learn a lot here.

But I wish I had found the site before. There is so much to learn about this kind of dog. There is a lot of information here if you use the search function. If you don’t the mods will remind you to do that before you post.
