Hello, I am new to these forums and plan to hang around awhile. I am not new to dogs and have owned and trained many. I am here to try something new that is working out really great so far. Dont laugh as this is for real, lol.
I am protection training a small dogs named Toad, she is half boston terrier half chihuahua and is very high in prey drive, very outgoing, loves people, fears nothing as of yet, just loads of fun.
This is what she at almost 6 months knows already. Sit, fuss, here, dance <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />, up, off, and she covers her eyes if you make a blowing sound at her. She is working a small tug (its really a toy) she will hit with no fear of hurting herself, I target most her bites on the tug to between my legs as this is where i want her taught and then to leg bites also. She will bite, hang, swing, back up tugging, can be touched, rubbed , pulled up to my face and still stay on her tug.
Has anyone ever taught small dogs here? This little girl is like a big dog in a small dog body. Its funny as we have an older chihuahua female and a big brindle cane corso male and we tell people that Toad is thier pup as she is also brindle like my cane corso lol
Well I look forward to chatting and learning some good things from the group.
I will get some training pictures of her very soon.
This is Toad, I thought I would share her cute side first
And Toad when we bought her at 8weeks while away camping. I traveled 6 hours one way to get this little dog. When we arrived I saw her and her mother the boston, and her mom was running around the yard like a crazy typical boston and toad was running after her screaming because she could not catch her, then she ran over and jumped up and hit me right in the gut from excitement and i knew she was worth the drive
This is her and my daughter out fishing, first time for the dogs in a boat and we had this little boat, two adults, two kids and 4 dogs two cane corso's and toad and my daughters chihuahua, lol. It all went well except for the rain.
