I AM FEEDING MY 9WEEK OLD AND MY 15 MONTH OLD GSD'S THE BARF DIET, I RECENTLY SPOKE TO A WOMAN WHO SELLS AND IS A HUGE ADVOCATE FOR THIS DOG FOOD, flint river ranch" i looked at the ingredients and they seem to have a good thing going onbut i need experienced help. i would love to keep oon with the barf diet but to be honest it would be so much easier to find a good dog food that i could buy and not have to pulp the veggies and freeze so much meat and defrost and all that crap...i have two young boys and am due to be having another any time now so i am looking for things to be as simple and easy as possible.also i am having a hard time getting my hands on the necessary supplements that they should get along with the barf diet so if anyone knows about this product flint river ranch or would be able to help if i scanned and emailed some of the info i received about this product please let me know
Hi! My GSD's breeder sells Flint River Ranch. You can order it directly from her and it is delivered right to your door. She feeds all her GSDs this food and highly recommends it. Ed has some great suppliments available if you want to keep on the raw diet, but, as you know, raw diets are very time-consuming. My breeder's web site is http://www.royale.org Go to the bottom of her home page and you'll find the link to the food.
Good luck! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

i met with a dealer of this food and she gave me brochures and samples. there were two things i was wondering about though... the oven baked thing, and the feed once a day thing.
with oven baking aren't the minerals, vitamins and nutrition in the form that the dogs need being cooked away,so to sppeak???
also with feeding once a day aren't they at a greater chance for bloat??
I have not used this food myself, but what I feed is very similar (oven-baked and slow-cooked). As far as oven-baking goes, this is better than most of the ways dry dog food is prepared. Not as many nutrients are lost in this process. Using some good suppliments is a good idea, though.
I would most definitely NOT feed once a day though no matter what the label says! If, for instance, it says a dog of a certain size/weight should eat 2 cups/day than I would split that to 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup at night. This is definitly better for the dog and will help safe-gaurd against bloat. I wish this would prevent it altogether LOL!
I haven't heard of the food you mentioned but I use the Homemade for Life brand by Aunt Jenis http://www.auntjeni.com/homemade.htm. They will deliver it to your door or you can buy it from the all natural pet store. It comes in chicken, beef, lamb and rabbit flavors 3lbs. or 15lb buckets all you have to do is defrost it in warm water and feed, all of the ingredients are raw. Check out the website I think you'll be impressed. They also have all natural treats.
