I would like to ask for suggestions regarding the following:
One "squad" car, containing two non-k9 armed soldiers, one armed k9 soldier, one dog. One "bad guy" (unknown if he's armed) disappears into thick vegetation that can include corn field, coffee field, tropical brush, ravines.
Almost NO possibility for "back up". Very little opportunity for apprehension after the fact due to limited investigative capability. As luck would have it, this team happened to be very close to where the "bad guy" was last seen, there's reasonably clear indication of the direction he took.
How should I set this up? What should be the operation objectives? Which are areas of special concern?
This will be my Sunday morning. Fun, fun, fun! Thanks for the suggestions.
Tactical and deployment discussions are better left for private correspondence. You never know who might be trolling a public forum.
Besides, look how easy it is to fake out cops already. Wouldn't want to give them any super secret bad guy info. Especially FOREIGN secret bad guy info
Sure was a close one! We almost let the proverbial cat out of the bag! Now, seriously...anyone that's trolling here AND will be in a position to escape into a bunch of vegetation AND will know that it's three people and a dog that are after him AND knows he is faced with officials that have no access to backup AND that knows there is little to no investigative capability AND that will study these posts enough to remember them under stress AND that will determine the probability of officials actually following the precise training scenario...etc...etc...is WAAAY unlikely.
Therefore this could be an interesting search scenario discussion. In fact, I hope it is because most of the topics on this forum lately have been rather weak.
If we can't discuss PSD training in the realm of "use of force" scenarios, then perhaps the ENTIRE SECTION should be called something else, lest we alert potential criminals to stuff they can't figure out rather easily.
In conclusion, I'm looking for suggestions. If anyone wants to give them...publicly or privately...they will be quite welcome. Many of us may learn stuff in the process.
I can't see a dog finding a bad guy as "police tactics" I have done this stuff with most of my dogs. They get really pumped up and it is excellent for proofing the B&H.
I like to use two different scenarios. The first is the bad guy is just trying to make distance, and the second the bad guy cuts back and forth like a crazy man and doesn't go that far, but there are a lot of cut-backs, streams, and trees and fences to throw the dog off.
When I was young and my knees still worked, most dogs (other than my coonhounds) could not find me. I had to adjust myself, and quite honestly thought more of the hounds ability and thought my "working dogs" were kinda retarded. I could fake them out pretty easily, and trying to get them to quit using their eyes required a blindfold before they could do harder stuff. Hope you have fun, and don't tell anyone SHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHH
Jim, I'm not asking for an in depth discussion about your on duty high risk track deployment...for that all I would have to do is read all that you and others posted here
I'm actually asking for training scenario setup. No cloak and dagger stuff
So for the last time...anyone interested in suggesting training scenario setup for a potential high risk track in an area with a bunch of natural cover?
