Does anyone on here give their dog Greenies? If so, I have 3, $1.00 off coupons if anyone wants them. One expires 10/31/05, but some stores may still accept it after the expiration date. I don't use them, but I figured, hey, why just throw away coupons if someone else can use them?!
PM me if you are interested.

No kidding. They are expensive, that's another reason I thought I'd offer the coupons before I tossed them out. Do you want them, Matthew?

Yep.........I swear that's the real reason they are colored green- to signify the amount of $$$ you have to fork over to buy them. There are some benefits to having only one dog to feed at the moment.

I like Greenies, but they are gone fast! My dogs love them. They seem to help clean the teeth, not sure about the breath.

I swear my dogs breath smells like fish, even before I started giving him sardines n mackerel, n even if he doesn't eat fish for a week or more.

The breath of dogs who are starting to build up some plaque can be described as fishy, IMHO.
I don't recall what you feed........but canned food seems to result in the worst plaque and breath (as opposed to raw or kibble), and my granddog's dental vet, after he broke a tooth and had to have a crown put on at Tufts ( $ $ $), and had a cleaning while he was under, told my daughter that daily brushing would be great and that even three times a week would be very good.
That whole thing made me go buy a brush and some dog toothpaste and start doing it with mine.
Start sloooooooow..........I started on the front teeth for a week or so and gradually started being more thorough as they got used to it.

That whole thing made me go buy a brush and some dog toothpaste and start doing it with mine.
I have a toothbrush for the dog - I also had doggy toothpaste... keyword... HAD doggy toothpaste! I left it on my desk one night, at 4am I wake up, hear him doing something, look over, he ATE THE TUBE, yes, the actual aluminum TUBE. I was a lil freaked out, but he passed it without a problem and all was good. I haven't replaced it since, but I need to start getting him used to brushing. The vet said start without the toothpaste cuz he gets so distracted by the taste trying to eat it rather than learning the mechanical motion of the brushing. We'll see. I'll re-attempt it soon.
As for what I feed - combination of raw/kibble/canned (kibbled and cans one day, he wont eat dry kibble, he'll eat 1/2 of his normal daily food if I do that, and he already eats 1/2 of what the food bag says he should be eating) and raw the other day - but he won't eat certain raw foods, only ground beef/turkey, so I still give him kibble/cans because that way I'm sure he's getting everything.
