Here is a link to the pictures of the nationals and also a few short videos. I'd be interested to hear what some of the experienced dog sport people have to say. http://locknloadboxers.com/pups.htm
Luke,
The video's were just too far away and too dark ( filming into the sun so we were looking at the shadow side ) to really see what was going on. Two out of the three dogs missed the sleeve on the courage test, and although the helper work didn't seem appear to be at a high level, it's really hard to say what happened...... trouble with the dog , helper work, or a failure of both.
Sorry, wish I could offer an opinion here...but as Mr. Spock would have said .........."insufficient data".

Thanks Will. I couldn't see much either. I know one of the dogs who came off the sleeve is a really nice bitch, don't know if it was dog or helper. I've been watching the US dogs as I've been impatiently waiting for my pup from Germany, there's getting to be quite a few nice dogs here now. I won't be doing Schutzhund though. ASR for me! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
Luke,
If you're getting a Boxer from Europe, make *sure* that you get a complete cardiac exam on the puppy/ dog as soon as you get it ( and inquire about cardiomyopathy in the lines, it's a big problem in the Boxer lines in Germany and elsewhere )
Better safe than sorry...
Thanks for the advice. The line I'm getting him from is almost completely free of any chd. Every dog on both sides of the pedigree as far back as I could go has been free. The puppy will be vet certified before I go get him, but I will have him checked here as soon as I get back. The male is the IPO II ATIBOX Champion last year and both dogs come from the Von Felix line. As Felix himself is now too old to breed these 2 kennels are taking over for him and seem very dedicated. I've been trying to get a dog out of this line for over 2 years! After all this time, work and expense I'm definitely going to make sure he's healthy. Thanks.
I always like to watch Boxers work, we have 2 in our club, owned by Minna and Chris Nousiainen-Becher. They have some really awsome working Boxers. I wish you well in getting your new puppy. If you would like to see Minna and Chis' dogs....there web site is, http://www.boxnen.com
Another working Bloxer breeder here in the chilly north is George and Kathy Markos. I think that they had some puppies from the ....um, Dennis Bauer's male that he won with this year. I don't remember the dogs name, I think it was Erik(sp) or what he won but I remember Minna at club jumping up and down saying that he won. It really was funny.
At any rate good luck with your new pup that you are getting.
Thanks Brandon. I know Minna and Chris as well as the Markos. I was actually going to get a puppy out of Essi and by one of the markos dogs but she didn't take. They're very nice people with great dogs though.
yeah I have seen Essi work, she is good. Chris also has a young male....named Sparta, that is doing really well. I think that he got him from Finland, somewhere overthere. Minna is getting another one also, sometime.
