hello all, just curious to hear what everyone suggests to feed a pregnant bitch that will be beneficial to her and the pups. Aside from a raw diet, what are some things(supplements or the like) that should be fed? thanks in advance.
Cindy is the expert on raw diet (in my books) but with this said we increase the bitches doet in the last trimester by about 20 to 25%.
With this said - dont vaccinate.
Just as importantly when the bitch whelps - offer a couple of cans of chicken or beef broth twice a day. The more liquids the bitch drinks the more milk she makes. Broth is a great way to inclrease milk production.

I just happened to run across a web page today that addresses pregnant and lactating bitches and their nutritional requirements. Actually, it pretty much just confirms what has been said, especially Ed Frawley's recommendation about liquid, but I thought you might want to look at it.
Just keep in mind that the site IS kind of selling a product (Billinghurst's); still, it has good basic info to add to your collection. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
