the first thing that strikes me is 'proportionality'.
Is a full-on SWAT entry proportionate and necessary in these circumstances? (I'll bow to the US LEOs knowledge here)
This question has been with me since I read the OP's 1st post. I only watched about 10 seconds of the video because it was making me sick. From all accounts it didn't get any better.
In my town we'd have to pass a tax overide to send out a Swat team..... and for a possible pot distributor? This is so excessive; to me it has the feel of "Urban Legend". And I have to ask.....who is filming this? Shots are going off and there is mass confusion and someone isn't phased and continues filming.
If I were a resident of that town in MO; I'd be livid on so many levels......yet there doesn't seem to be a lot of outrage, as a matter of fact (I may be wrong) I think this happened in February and this is the first I've heard of it.
If this went down the way it is being portrayed; it's policing at its worse. From the decision of lets send in the Swat team to firing guns when there was no threat to the officers (well from the 10 seconds I watched and the comments of others).
I think our Care Bears need some help perhaps Rob can send us the UK Teletubbies to give them a hand.......Tinky-Winky being my favorite
Aside from the allegation in the caption to the video, where are we getting the evidence that the dogs were crated?
The linked news article indicates that they encountered the dog upon entry, ie, in the living room.
I've found nothing else, other than internet speculation and hyperbole, that supports that claim.

Yep, you are correct... but at least it made you smile.
I'm afraid this post has gotten way off message. I apologize.
And I thank you for the genuine laugh.

YouTube is packed full of real life combat footage from Iraq and Afghanistan, taken by the soldiers in the fights. Some attach the camera to their helmet and I'm not sure about the others, someone who's served there will have to chime in on that. It's possible this was filmed in much the same way.
I would imagine one of the Officers was delegated to video tape the entry, as is becoming more common during operations these days after so many LEOs have been exonerated by dashcams.
A couple of years ago there was footage filmed, and is posted on the internet, of a police standoff. The criminal appeared to have a gun, they released the police dog, a Mali, and this criminal threw the gun at the dog, police opened fire killing both the criminal and police dog, all while being video taped. It was later revealed, not sure on this, the gun was a cell phone, the criminal a teen. In Georgia last summer, an officer responding to a house alarm, is told by home owner's that it was a false alarm, politely tells them he'll take a look around, enters their backyard, and ends up shooting/killing their 6 year old lab. I have a family full of various aspects of LE, and thankfully I do not hear of these situations occuring.
