Here's the thing: They had no fear, no loneliness, no cold wet ground, no sterile lonely cage..... they had you, and warmth, and each other.
And you did your absolute best. You let them have a gentle passing.
The poor lil guys. Thank heaven they had you.

Please go to bed thinking of how you helped living breathing sentient beings, beings who couldn't make it -- how you helped them to have a soft and warm and well-loved little life first.

Death is not the worst thing that can happen to a body...there is pain, fear, cold, loneliness. These pups had you to give them a warm and safe place to die. Please be good to yourself and know that you did everything that you could.

it's like i took them from one horrible place to another. I worked so hard, and put my safety on the line, and got them out of house, where they were skin and bones, barely alive and they went right back to being shin and bones, struggling just to live. How am i any different than their former owners?
i know i was "doing a good thing", but i just don't get it.

Come on! They had a warm and loving place with no fear, no loneliness, and no thirst or hunger!
They weren't going to make it, we know now...... but they had such a kind and gentle passage.
They were so lucky to have you.
You did good. Not only that.... you did your best. That's a thing to feel not just good, but VERY good about. My heart aches for the beings who do not have that comfort and warmth and caring at the end.
