We need a link or ingredients list. I see that there are a couple or more, maybe one called Happydog and one called Happy Dog, and one might be an add-in food.
i also met the rep of a kibble called Happy dog. have you heard of it? apparently it should be beter than RC..
The sales rep would not be my info source.
I would read the ingredients list, perhaps post a link here. I have a bad memory of that name (could be wrong) as being corn-based, with corn in the top ingredient spot.
I have never heard of that food, and I was curious so I just looked at the website. They have a picture of the *fattest* Australian Shepherd I have ever seen on their front page!
It looks basically like a home cooked diet where you add your own meat.
ETA: Never mind. I think I had the wrong dog food company. This is the webpage I found: http://www.happydogfood.com/
loool!
hey at least it s a 3star kibble. i was trying to find holistic select but rep stopped getting it along with eagle pack because no one was buying. most of the pple here feed either RC or Friskies. Friskies supposedly "gives a dog an amazing sheen on his coat"
well maybe we re right. all you guys feeding raw oughta switch to friskies ok? :P
going to the kennel in an hour to poopwatch and walk the karlz.
hey guys.
sorry for the delay. didnt have access to internet.
update:
karly's stools are better than how they were on meat (watery black), but JUST a bit more consistent than how they were before on RC(what he s being fed again now)BUT in my opinion still mushy/loose. there are no drips at the end, and they re blackish (i think it s because of the meat that s still not out of the system...i donno).
Vet and caretakers say its "150% normal", more than that would be TOO firm supposedly although i see log like stools everywhere.
they re gona keep him till monday to finish off the treatment and it would be up to me to get him to fill up.
should i get another opinion? in all cases, m gonna go for a CBC and another stool sample to see where he s at.
he s eating 3cups of RC a day. at his age now it should be 4. Vet thinks i should keep him for now on RC (a month - if not indefinitely)and up the dose bit by bit, before adding boiled meat in the food bit by bit.
i m still convinced that i should switch him to raw but in the mean time need to figure out a way to hide his ribs. any suggestion on how to do that?
vet suggested ADDING BREAD or PASTA(?!)
maybe i should give him some ground beef every other day?
he needs to get back in shape! any suggestions?
on a side note, vet BOILS chicken necks for his adult dogs and doesnt trust raw chicken and meat for salmonella and bacteria in lebanon..:s he boils everything (!?!)
apart from that, karly s extremely energetic and is doing fine i guess.
