well, in this case the guy only had some weed. Could have been some good stuff, but still not a nuke. Even if he had a lot of weed, it's still not a nuke.
Similar tactics were used during hostage situation in a Moscow theater. 50 terrorists and 120 hostages were dead. It's a good thing to be able to know for sure there are only bad guys in there.
Obviously, some techniques should never be used when hostages are involved... although if nuclear weapons are also involved, that would certainly complicate matters, wouldn't it?

I've been out of the drug scene for quite awhile now, thirty plus years or so, I don't remember Pot dealers being a violent group. Coke and Heroin dealers yea, those guys were just nasty.

If this goes to court, which I would hope it would, I would be interested in knowing if the person video taping that was someone listed on the warrant as aiding in the execution of the warrant. I believe if an unauthorized person entered that home, it would be a fourth amendment violation, would those LEO's be covered under qualified immunity?
Previous coke arrest don't really mean he was a coke dealer. I think this guy was small time. An empty seal can count as a felony where coke is involved. He probally was dealing locally hence the "informant" probally got nicked with her own baggie and had to roll over on him. It is stupid to do especially when you have a child living with you. I think this owner may possibly fall under the category of who bully supporters would rather not own a pitty. Still the dog didn't need to be shot. I had a neightbor whose house was raided and he had a wild, huge lab mix. The dog was not harmed in the raid and they found a substantial amount of cocaine I think it was like 6 ounces.

The Mexican drug cartels earn an estimated 60% of their profits from marijuana sales in California. Gangbangers also control a good amount of the street sales. Growers and dealers can certainly be dangerous with an estimated $14 billion in annual sales, in CA alone.
Again, if this was a really pressing situation and/or if he has a rap sheet the size of Texas, why wait 8 days....coke, pot, nukes,...why did they wait 8 days then go in guns a blazin not knowing an innocent women and child where there.
None of this makes sense...just piss poor police work on display.
I really doubt he's in the Mexican Mafia. He had no weapons in the home. He's just a dumba** who showed off his stash and someone rolled over on him to keep themself out of trouble. People usually don't squeal on the cartel. If it is the case then somone let out the fact that it was a female who told on him. If it was the MM she'd be headed for the witness protection program.
