I really doubt he's in the Mexican Mafia. He had no weapons in the home. He's just a dumba** who showed off his stash and someone rolled over on him to keep themself out of trouble. People usually don't squeal on the cartel. If it is the case then somone let out the fact that it was a female who told on him. If it was the MM she'd be headed for the witness protection program.
The Mexican Mafia is a California-based prison gang that is the "big leagues" for the Southern California Sureno street gangs, completely separate from the Mexican drug cartels that are waging war along the border and destroying California national forests with their grow operations.
I was just addressing what Dennis said about dealers and violence. With large investments, they certainly can be violent.
Here's the Cliff's:
-Nine warrants served over two days at nine residences.
-Seven people arrested.
-4,300 total plants seized, 1,000 at one address alone.
-Estimated $18 million in value.
-All warrants served without incident.
Yeah well, unfortunatley they have made their way to other parts of the country as well and are here in the midwest. I am near huge Dairy farm area, the gangs have come along with the immigration. Also Chicago is no stranger to them which is a short commute for these mexican nationals. I have heard them called MM out here. Could be the same people or oranization-Whatever, too scary for me.

It's possible they could be MM and/or Sureno. A brief lesson, if you're interested. MM and Sur represent the Southern half of the state, wear blue and sport the number 13/X3/XIII/three dot tat because M (for Mexico) is the 13th letter of the alphabet. They "flag" (wear their bandannas) to the right side. Their rivals are Nuestra Familia and Norte, which represent the Northern half of the state, along with migrant farm workers as a means of "protection" from the violent Sur gangs, wear red and sport the number 14/X4/XIV/four dot tat for N. They "flag" to the left. The recognized state "boundary" is the San Fernando Valley.
It's also possible that people just call them the Mexican Mafia like the Russian Mafia, etc.. At any rate, like you said, bad news. I grew up around this kind of nonsense and still live in the same area, the crime and violence just seem like normal life.
I live 20 miles from Columbia. I have not heard of any major (or minor) gang activity there.
The violent crime level is pretty low. I know of no areas where you are taking your life in your hands if you happen to drive through them. There were one or two drive-by shootings last year.
Our biggest problem is meth, and those people tend to be too fried to be much danger.
Maybe the SWAT team just wanted to get out and practice.
Meth makes them crazy. We had a training on spotting meth labs or signs of them when I worked in a different county. The county I work in now we also had a training with the police(nothing physical the gang detectives came in and spoke to us as a group) anyhoo they said Meth is more prevelant in rural areas. Probally because of the farms and the availability of that one chemical farmers use that's also used in meth labs. Those are dangerous and many times I'm sure the dogs are affected. Some children test positive. Some die when they start mixing the chemicals and there's a toxic gas released. We were told about a baby's carseat being on the counter(with baby) while the guy was mixing the meth. The baby was takin out of the home for testing positive. Pathetic parenting. Selling dope out of your house with a kid living there is also pathetic IMHO.
There's a lot of meth sold in this area, which is one of the reasons why the violence is as high as it is. Several years ago one of my wife's cousins got himself in some serious ish with his "higher ups" in the meth trade...who weren't in an organized or street gang. They kidnapped him from his living room couch, tortured him for a few days (evident by the wounds), made him a foot shorter with a 12g, and left him in an orchard still bound in duct tape. Houses also used to explode on a regular basis from labs until enforcement efforts got better. There hasn't been an explosion in years and it certainly isn't for a lack of POS tweekers. I've seen and heard a lot living in this part of NorCal and while we do have a lot of crime and violence we thankfully don't have the violence levels of places in SoCal.
