Isn't he? And he covers so many good singers .... and sounds better than some of them.

Hmm, don't know that I've ever noted the similarity between Heather and Loretta, but both are great artists, Loretta, a country treasure, and Heather a true talent largely ignored by country radio stations!
I was speaking more about style and lyrics than career paths. Both are artists from the old school, honky tonk style of country. When I saw Heather perform, she acknowledged Loretta, and lists Loretta as one of her main influences when asked.

Oh, okay, I thought you were referring more to their voices, their actual sound. I do agree both are true country artists, Loretta having actually helped to pave the way for the female singers in her era, Heather refusing to bow to the pressure from country radio to sing more "popular" stuff.
She wrote a song about it.

Oh, my, Kris, Johnny, and Kris and Johnny!
Yeah, poor Heather Myles is just "too country" to get played on the radio. Thank goodness she's got five CDs out. When I'm in the mood for real country music but not necessarily the older stuff, I listen to her, Danni Leigh, Kelly Willis, Dwight Yoakam, Alan Jackson, and I know there are more.
Oh, boy, I better go surf Youtube for some good rock-n-roll before you guys think I've just gone all country on ya'.
