OMG! I used to dance like a crazy person to this at the youth club disco after a couple of ciders.
Oh the shame
I hear ya', Tracey! Some of the stuff we did in our youth....
Here's the band I used to dance to in the olden days when I was going to the local bars. Most of these guys went to my high school. The drummer lived kiddie-corner from our backyard and we used to hear them practicing in the garage when they were first getting started.
They did more of their own original stuff as years went by, but back in the day, they did some great covers. This was one of my favorites. Kinda hard to dance to, though, the way it goes slow, then fast, then slow, etc.
My oldest was named after a brilliant guitarist who was in a band I followed religiously when I was a young 'un, and talking about songs that change tempo throughout, one of the funniest things was watching the uninitiated dancing to Freebird, seeing their embarrassment when it got fast was hugely amusing!
Love it! I used to have a 12" vinyl with the revolver printed on it, Alabama was one side and Freebird the other, god knows where it went, I think husband #1 took it....
Jack White of the White Stripes rediscovered rockabilly sensation Wanda Jackson & collaborated
with her to relaunch her career with the album The Party Aint Over. It included this album of Bob Dylan Thunder on the Mountain.
