All I can think of when I hear the Carpenters is that ultra dumb "Muskrat Love". Their songs were never on my list of "Need to get that one".
As I was just going about my business today, a random thought popped into my head. It said, "Wait a minute. Muskrat Love wasn't the Carpenters, it was the Captain and Tennille!" Thank goodness I can still listen to "Superstar" without feeling like it's tainted.
And here, I'm thinking, it wasn't the Carpenters OR Capt and Tennille. It was America.
Here, we can all decide which is less horrible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBYV_7a0FQs (Captain & Tenille) (Captain & Tenille had a much bigger "hit" with it than America, but America did it earlier.)
I'll give them both the benefit and call it a tie.
You didn't include a comment, Duane, or at least I'm not seeing one. (I'm having a problem with the board sometimes showing me blank posts or just parts.) So I don't know if you're saying you like this song or you don't. I give it a thumbs-up.
Oh... sorry. Just putting it out there kinda means "this is what's on my mind".
I love that song, and I was reminded of it while listening to GB's second album(cd) at lunchtime. It's referenced in his song "Every Time That It Rains". I would've posted that, but you can't get GB originals on youtube.
Usually, if I don't like something, there IS a comment.
