I've been doing some training outside every day but it has been a bit cold for tracking. I've decided this is the perfect time to start my guy on articles. We can do that in the house.
I will be looking forward to the longer days in the summer for training my new puppy. However,we do have enjoy the privacy we find in most of the parks (very few distractions)
Tracking in the a.m., obedience at night during the work week; tracking/obedience in the a.m., protection in the afternoon on the days off work; all three before noon on the weekends. This has been going on for a couple of months now.
Then again, I'm also preparing for my second trial in under 21 days on Jan 7.
Yeah SoCal is awful right now. Our club people don't show up when it gets in the 60s.....burrrrrrrrrrrrrr
With trials coming up I tough it out and train 3x a week obedience/protection, plus 1x week in tracking. But I'm hardcore
Mitch, we have not seen you in a couple of months, you are really slacking off, you should get off your lazy butt and come out again, and David, I was only kidding, it is ok to feed your pup with a bowl once in awhile and Chris, I'll see you in the morning laying a track for you and since I'm light weight, I don't step very hard, you better get your dog some good night sleep so he won't go hungry tomorrow
December was a bust for training, the only thing I managed to keep up with is two long walks a day but I take the two pups out together to save time, which is a definate no-no when I'm training, better get back on track in January!!!
