I don't have the book in front of me right now, but maybe somebody else with the Handbook of Applied Dog Behavior and Training Volume 1 will look it up the reference and studies for me -
While it is more than certain that dogs can become nervous because of experience, nervousness is also a genetic trait that has been isolated and studied in the'nervous pointer.'
She could be bored, or in avoidance due to a bad experience,to much pressure, is she is young or if entire could be coming into season they can go very schitzi during this and show behaviour out of character,
take her for a full vet check up, erlichiosis can also
make a dog lethargic, but not act very sick until it is full blown. If she was once very drivey and is now acting
like this, I would be worried. If she has never been drivey,
then one of the above could be aggravating the lack of interest.Stop working her for a month or two if it is not a health, problem if she is coming into season, do not work her until she is completely finished, some bitches can and will work but most go off.Do you work her at home alone or are you in a training group? It is hard to judge with only a few facts to go on.Nerves for me is 100 % genetic the enviroment and handling, will only enhance or aggravate what is in the dog.
sorry for the delay in getting to this-not been feeling well. you are refering to my girl,Anja? its the difference between what we were told by her former trainer about what she was like and what we have seen in her. but in talking to you all here,i am feeling better about her quirks now,and perhaps work with her better for the knowing....
