OEDBS: I saw the racing jrt's on tv the other day, & am sure fighting with a wildcat would be much easier. It was GREAT! Lots of fun to watch. In one of the races, 1 dog skipped all the jumps & then another dog knocked that one over. In another, 1 dog was in the lead, but sort of didn't make it into the hole, kinda bounced off, so he ended up losing. And the way they go so crazy in the starting gate, COOL!!! That is one crazy ass sport!!! Makes all the other sports look, well, laid back. I could NEVER keep up with a JRT. If they ever have those races in the Los Angeles area, I'd really like to go see.
If your talking about Purina's Incredible Dog Challenge,in Gray Summit Missouri, then you saw my chiselled, handsome self (old, gray and balding) in the catch pen. I belong to the Missouri Earthdogs. In addition to promoting natural hunting, we put on the national finals for Purina Farms terrier races, and have fun days at Purina Farms 4-5 times a year. On Memorial day weekend, we sponsor a huge trial at Purina, with racing, go to ground, conformation (Real terrier men for judges), and a number of other events. 2-3 hundred JRTs, Jadg terriers, fells, Patterdales, etc in one place. It's a %$#^%&*@ mad house!

Kelly, Flyball is a sort of a relay race. It involves jumps & a tennis ball. The height of the jumps is determined by the smallest dog, hence the desirability of your dog, maybe! There are Flyball teams everywhere now, so if I were you, I'd "google" it, or perhaps someone on this site can give you better information. From what I've seen, the dogs love it.
