I still would've done it. I did prelim her but I wanted to make sure nothing had changed. I had already her scheduled and she came in early. I get any pups that I have kept back xrayed around 4-7 months just for peace of mind. I got Drago back last wk, he'll go in for his in April, first appt I could get. (Since when do vets get a vacation??!!)
I think they can stretch them out better to get an accurate xray. My vet used an injection, and then a counter injection when it was done. I know my pup would have never relaxed enough to stretch him out on his back without sedating him.
Luckily for me, it'll be my previous employer who will do the rads, and I'll be able to hold her myself, so we'll probably be able to get her without any anesthesia. Possibly just a little valium if needed.
