You wouldn't command, "Take a Sh_t", in English where passersby could hear you (at least I wouldn't, LOL) nor would I use the German word for sh_t in public (I command "Get Busy" with my dogs, so I'd also choose a polite German term) but maybe that's just me...

Actually, I'd probably say "take a dump", To me, words are just words. Have you ever seen Penn & Tellers' Bull S.? They devoted a whole episode to the topic of "bad words". Very Very funny show.
I´m not a native german speaker, actually I understand (hearing and reading) it but my german speaking is poor. I always throw in dutch words (my native language).
But the translation mr Jones gives, is the right one.
Just wondering...why teach commands in a other language?

Ive heard plenty of cursing coming out of german peoples' mouths ESPECIALLY when it comes to dogs But really, what difference does it make to you what word someone else uses? poopie, poo, poo poo, dump, it all comes out the same in the end
Yikes. I'm guessing you're talking about Germans here because I travel to Germany all the time and just don't hear it. I do hear how distasteful they find cursing to be. Me, I'm OK w/it . Curse away!
It's just a matter of general public courtesy, Susan, that's all -- In "polite society" most people don't want to be too crude (of course, it's all the same to an animal, LOL)...
Some guy might call his own dog A--hole & feel free to bellow that name throughout the neighborhood, but I wouldn't appreciate hearing it (especially if youngsters were within ear-shot) -- This is why I like the neutral Relief Command of "Get Busy", but as I said, it's just my personal preference to use human good manners in public, Susan (shrug).
