Here is my response to Mr. Tristany...I forgot to mention, I don't remember where the worms thing came in, I'm assuming it's in reference to the pup being skinny.
Thank you for your sentiments for my service. We a in the military appreciate any all support we receive from home while we are abroad especially. I posted your response on the website under the Doberman section as you requested. I also posted my response. I WILL NOT edit anything from your posts, on this you have my word. As far as the crop goes, I requested a working crop, 5/8th some people call it. I do not feed kibble as I do not agree with it or all of it’s special properties. Thank you for your advice. Yes, I am cutting Annie’s nails constantly and taping her ears constantly.
I sincerely hope that I become the owner that Annie needs to help her become everything she can be. I don’t recall seeing any pics from Legard on that site. Perhaps I missed it? I will guarantee that I did not post it. Annie does not have hair missing anymore. If you don’t mind, I would also like to post this e-mail to the leerburg website.

Oh Cat, you poor thing. This Mr. Tristany doesn't have a clue yet he presumes to counsel YOU. You have the patience of a saint. It's true that all puppies have worms, but your pup should have been wormed more than once before being shipped (ours are wormed 4 times before going "home"). The "bites" sound like pyoderma. If that's what it is a medicated shampoo will help and it's also something that they tend to outgrow. Some vets prescribe an antibiotic for it. BTW; a 5/8 crop is PERFECT

And his dog food recommendations are straight from the shiny ads; no one who had ever read the ingredients* and knew anything about canine nutrition could urge someone else, in good conscience, to buy the foods he tells you to buy. JMO. I imagine he has not done much reading here or on any board that's responsible about canine nutrition. Maybe he will.
*ProPlan: Ground yellow corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, whole wheat flour, beef tallow, rice flour, beef soy flour, sugar
Eukenuba: Chicken, chicken by-product meal, corn meal, ground whole grain sorghum, ground whole grain barley, chicken fat, fish meal, Brewers rice

I feel Cat's concerns over his Dobe are valid, however I can't understand or agree with everyone jumping all over this Mr. Tristany, whom I do NOT know. Reading his comments posted by Cat, I saw nothing that referenced how "rich" he is, nor that he deserved any of the "being made fun of" that his comments got. His comments were courteous, without malice, and his advice was only given to try to help Cat. Yikes!

Yes, his comments were nicely put.
I understand the "wealthy" interpretations, but I don't care about his wealth or lack of it when I feel that his food advice, given in a knowledgeable manner (not "I like," but "you should buy"), is so poor. This isn't really a weirdo out-there idea, I don't think, to have a little resentment when he dismisses an excellent food because he personally has not heard of it (which I assume means "seen an ad," since it's easy to Google it) and urges a very poor choice.
But yes, he was definitely well-spoken, and I probably overreacted in my unhappiness about thinking how many people he may have convinced to feed their pups one of the lowest-quality, cheaply-made, grain-heavy foods out there.
I do understand that he just doesn't know. And as I said, maybe he will read up. If he does, he has a nice writing style and could influence other owners for the better.

Sandy, FYI: a 3000 sq.ft. home on a 3 acre estate in Connecticut would cost more $$$ than I'll make throughout the whole length of my career -- hence that "uber-rich" reference, LOL
How anyone can live without a dog is beyond me... |

I don't think Mr. Tristany necessarily deserves us being maybe just a teensy snotty. I appreciate everyone's concern, please don't misunderstand. I do not know Mr. Tristany's financial background. I don't think it should matter because I paid hard earned American money for my dog even if she was only supposed to be a companion. $1500 to be exact.
I appreciate Mr. Tristany's candor and his firm politeness in addressing my complaints about this breeder. He had a good experience and that's great.
As far as the food goes, Mr. Tristany, if you tried to feed Nico raw, he might not have all his ribs showing, just the last two. If you are comfortable with what you're doing now, then that's great!
Again, thank you for your responses.

You are correct, Cat!
Amazing how it can be fun to be a teensy bit snotty when the object of the snottiness is not here in the first person.
Personally, I plan to watch that in the future.
I'll stick to being snotty with the people on the forum I know and love!
When Mr. Tristany joins and is fair game, then we'll see........
JK, of course.
