OK,OK, now that I can catch my breath from finishing LMAO!!!!!.......I guess I'll have to be a little more conservative in my gear choices
Deanna, I am hoping like h*@# to be able to get up there this summer, even if for only an extended weekend. And I agree, we LOVE that outlet there in Ellsworth Eric is on a crazy job right now, so it will take work to force him into any vacationing! But, I'm working on it!! I'm hoping to get to go hiking around on Bar Island.....
Geez..... I wish that K9 Nation was closer to me! 4 1/2 hours is too far for me to drive to a club routinely. That being said, anyone who can get there would be LUCKY to have the opportunity to train on a regular basis with Francesco. He was wonderful with his VERY IMPRESSIVE dogs!! He was always helpful and supportive, even though he knew that I did not have alot of experience. I admit I was somewhat nervous, as I didn't have any idea what to expect....I was elated to see how neat, organized and professional the atmosphere of entire property was, seperately from the seminar...very impressive, what else can I say??
I am very blessed to have been able to have gotten my dog back in time to make it up to the seminar with this tremendous group! I hope Francesco has another seminar soon!!!

Ya know what Susan, one of the things that made me feel so comfortable was how everyone was so darn nice! I was NEVER made to feel incompetant or looked upon in a condecending manner due to my inexperience. In fact, the exact opposite! Both Bernhard and Francesco were 1000% encouraging. All of the mistakes I made were immediately turned into a learning experience, for both myself and the others watching. Hey...maybe a good name for the next seminar could be Purely Positive PEOPLE training!!!
BTW, I love that soccer cleats idea, thanks!

That is so important. Have you ever noticed the really secure, knowledgable people also seem to be the friendly, generous ones? Only stupid people make people feel stupid (ha ha)! Were you able to video the seminar? I am not asking because I want to see it (I know that would not be fair to either k9 Nation or Mr. Flinks), but if you are anything like me, it is hard to absorb so much information in so short of time!

Some of the participants were nice enough to use my camera to do short little clips of me getting instructed, along with some great still shots, and all were done with advanced permission and for private use only. Definately helpful.

I just went on Sunday. Wish I had gone all four days It was my first Flinks seminar too! It was fun and I learned a lot. It was great seeing the experienced handlers work their dogs. Can't wait to go to my next Flinks seminar. I think I'm turning into a seminar addict

I also attended Bernhard's seminar last weekend. He is an excellent trainer who gets the most out of the dogs he is working with. It was a pleasure meeting you all. - Greg

Is there any kind of schedule for a Flinks seminar? I would love to catch him in the Midwest.
Dont own any videos yet, but would think that a seminar is more satisfying. Nothing like the real thing.

Hi
As far as RAIN GEAR goes there is no better rain gear then that made by Carhardt.
Put on the top and bottom and youll stay dry in the worst kind of rain.
It is made of a thick rain gear material so it will not rip. The sleeves have wet suit material cuffs inside so the water wont go down your arm if you raise your arms and also keeps the sleeve where it belongs. The hood is big enough to cover your head and goes completely over your forehead as opposed to some hoods that barely make it to the mid point of your head. The elbows, knees and seat are doubly reenforced and are that much more durable.
I am a contractor and because of my work fairly rough on clothes. This rain gear will not let you down, ive never put on better.
If you order this suit on line it runs big so if you think your an XL the large should probably be more than enough.
