Connie,
All 6 humans living at my place know to keep the 3 female dogs apart, but there have been two accidental mixings this month already with bloody results each time.
It will not suprise me to have another accidental mixing of the females, resulting in blood.
I don't like the idea of putting my dog down, but if she kill my son's dog, I will consider putting her to sleep.
Hasn't anybody heard of electronic collars designed to keep dogs apart?

Daniel,
My female, Jennie, tries to kill most other adult female, not male, dogs brought onto her teritory.

Please don't kill your dog, it's acting naturaly. Those dogs weren't meant to get along. Do you dive them the same amount of attention, because it could be a jealousy factor, which one is older?

How much spilled blood will it take before you take charge of the dogs in your care? My goodness, I don't own two dogs and maybe shouldn't post here because of it but I really think anyone reading your post doesn't need experience with multiple dog households to know that there lies within your home a heartbreaking disaster just waiting to happen. How does that saying go...Hurt me once, shame on you. Hurt me twice, shame on me. Accidents happen but it's scarey to see that, not only has an "accident" happened twice, but you are seemingly planning on the fact that it will happen again. All I can say is, your poor dogs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

If you can't be responsible and keep the dogs seperated then REHOME THE DOG. Why do people want to kill their dog when there's nothing wrong with the dog? My Male is aggressive with other males, so what do I do? I buy a female puppy because he loves females. If I had 2 males, my male would start fights that's 100% guaranteed, if I insisted on having a male, they would never, ever, EVER be allowed to interact. I would have 2 crates, or 2 kennel runs outside, one dog goes into the kennel, the other comes out. Simple. Many people do it, n if you can't do that, then rehome the dog before someones dog gets killed. Don't put the dog down, please oh please don't do that, there's nothing wrong with the dog, it's an owner problem for letting em out at the same time. Before letting a dog out of their kennel, check to see where the other dogs are... heck, kennel em all next to eachother in good quality crates, that way you'll always know where the other dogs are. Rotate their free time during the day, girl 1 gets mornings, girl 2 gets afternoons, girl 3 gets evenings... if the dogs have to be free to roam the house at night then rotate nights, let girl 1 out on monday, girl 2 on tuesday, 3 on weds, 1 on thurs, 2 on fri etc.
If you have a hard dog then a correction can be motivation, to control dog aggression you need to do ALOT of training, I've overcome this with my male, but only to the point where he will tollerate another male, he can walk by them and be in the same room as them, but if they start sniffing eachother for more than 4 seconds he will snap, so the simple solution: Don't let him sniff at other males or interact with them, always on a leash with a prong.

Daniel,
I have no desire to put down my dog.
The second female will be rehomed in about a month.
My family and I will continue to keep the females apart.
After 2 failures to maintain the females apart, I paniced.
I will be vigilant and worried until the 2nd female is moved.
My dog is 2 years older and jealousy might be a factor.

This is good to know, you seem to be making the right choice here.

Joseph,
If you go to the Table of Contents on this site and click on Training Articles there is a list of articles about Agression Problems, Dominance Problems, Dogs Fighting and many more that would be beneficial for you to read.
This is not about jealously between the dogs or which dog you spend the most time with....if they were my dogs they wouldn't be together at all. One dog fight is one too many for me.
Regards,
Debbie
