Sorry Michele but I don't have an answer for you. I just tried it for the mosquito repelling benefits, more of a nuisance than fleas and ticks for my situation.
The cons I have heard about Advantix is the skin reactions some dogs have and that it may not be as effective against ticks as the Frontline. The difference in application between Advantix and Frontline is that you have to apply Advantix in four seperate areas rather than the one location between the shoulders as with the Frontline. I suspect that may be one cause for some reactions in dogs if one area is dosed up with the Advantix.
Believe me, if given a choice I wouldn't use any of these products and I stretch out the applications as long as possible. But right now this is the lesser of the evils.
