I dunno didley about breeding or monohybrid cross Punnett squares, but know it sounds ill-advised.
But I was wondering when DNA tests might ever mean more than
this pup came from these two parents? I mean since the map for dogs is complete, won't it soon be possible to do DNA testing which would help get purebreds out of the pickle they seem to be in with too many health conditions affecting so many breeds?
Not to go off topic, but it seems like we could be more scientific about breeding, if we found the will to.
Maybe with enough data, applied to breeding, we could see DNA test help create critters more likely to have less problems?
I don't know, just asking. Seems you see the dog, then there is the shadow dog of recessives, and we don't exploit
the science which could reveal the shadow, so we could know when not to mix shadows which might produce undesirable results.
