Do yourself & the dog a favor and get Ed's e-training DVD -- neither of you will be sorry <:-) Yes, your pup is already old enough to have one & here's the link:
Candi,Thanks I'll look into it.I made the mistake with my 4yr. old in not conditioning him to the collar and like I've read he knows when he's wearing it.I did however condition the pup to his collar by switching collars throughout the day for about 3 weeks.I started using it on him only to find he may be a little young for that right now(11mos.)When walking the pup is ALWAYS on a leash with a prong, but the 4yr. old is off lead with the e-collar.The pups OB is coming along nicely and I've just started some scent work with him:with the help of a trainer.I do however want to use the e-collar on him when he's a little older so I can start some off lead work without worrying.I think this is the right way to go about it,but I welcome any suggestions as I am a novice. Thanks <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> P.S. Any suggestions on retraining the 4yr. old so he listens the same with or without the collar?
