Well, I'm really just saying "ditto" --- seizure disorders can present exactly this way. It would be my first suspicion, I think.

Thanks for the replies. I will take my dog to the vet just to be sure it is not a seizure disorder. Each time the dog yelped, I have felt cold chills and the feeling of being watched. I have found mice in the garage and in the crawlsapce underneath the home so when I her a scrathing noise I don't think it's a ghost. The other stuff like my bed thumping (happened to me 2 times), feelings of being watched (frequent), air blowing cross my face (windows closed and the fan and a/c off), hair on my arms standing up while I am taking a hot shower, bed fan and light turning on and off (happened a few times no ectriacl problems), etc. can not be blamed on mice or beer (I wish I could blame the beer!). I also have taken many picture of orbs in the house which some people associate with ghosts. In some of these instances the dog was in the room with me and she did not display any unusual behavior.

I was wondering if anyone's dog is sensitive to paranormal activity such as ghosts, spirits etc. My dog, a female dutch shepherd, has alerted me a few times me when something was amiss. One time she alerted me by aggressively barking (hackles raising) inside my home at a wall (she normally does not bark in the house), and by "yelping" out in pain as if she had been struck by something. After I checked on my dog she seemed to be temporarily immobile (she was awake but rigid). My dog has no known medical problems. At one time I may not have perceived this as being paranormal however, I have had alot of strange stuff happening in my home that cannot be explained.
Will, don't give room or place in your mind to what is termed "paranormal activity". Doing that has already proved itself to be distracting you from the possibility that your dog may need medical help. Instead the focus should be on what has been mentioned, critters in the wall (could even be termites or bees) and a possible seizure in your dog, and take the dog to the vet.
If you want to talk about this further, send me a private message.

OK, now I'm sufficiently creeped out ! All way too scary for me but the bed thumping..that would send me screaming out of the house never to return.
Hey maybe that's why all my sisters and I are called, "The Shakey Sisters" by our significant others !

I totally agree that your dog should go to the vet for possible siezure issues. That being said, I would not be too quick to dismiss anything paranormal. Here is my experience:
My sister and I, my daughter and our three combined dogs rented a house together. From the time we moved in, strange stuff started happening. Our dogs were always barking at random places, wouldn't go into certain rooms, and would ocassionally growl at thin air. The house was always cold, we always felt watched and things would often dissapear and then reapear somewhere else (when we weren't looking, of course). We had pipes burst, light bulbs explode, locked windows blow open, radios turn themselves on, etc. The landlord had a housing inspector come by and look at the pipes and wiring to find out what was wrong, and they couldn't find anything. We left after being there six months, even though the landlord offered to let us stay rent-free if we covered the utilities. It was a big, beautiful house and we weren't even tempted. The house became locally notorious for being haunted, as SO MANY people encountered things there. Our dogs were crazed by the time we left, and my daughter had bald-spots on her head from living in constant fear, despite our attempt at down-playing the whole thing. It was easily one of the most horrible times of our lives. So...yes, I would say animals in general are sensitive to paranormal activity.

I agree, between Will, and Kristel's stories I don't know that I will sleep good tonight!
I'm a big wimp, I think that's why I like my home very busy full of kids and dogs and cats. That way any noise ,heck could be any of them definetely no room for ghosts in this house!

What does "being watched" feel like?
