I know it. Now he is only get the bath weekly. He gets so dirty so quickly though. I am going to look into Oatmeal stuff for bathtime.
If it's dirt (and if it is, then I am picturing a dog who has a good time! :grin, then I'd like to suggest that he get rinsed rather than shampooed for the weekly de-mudding.
If it's smell, then that's most likely diet-related, and it will take care of itself with the new food you're getting. I've found that dogs on appropriate diets (meat and not grains) don't have that "doggy" smell that people who feed Purina and the like sometimes think is normal. It's not.

I absolutely second the motion that less than stellar food = bad smelling stink. My Beagle, who loves to share my pillow at night, is a total poster child for that "odor" benefit of raw/improved feeding. He used to smell like a dead frog. No kidding. He smells a WHOLE lot better now, with less baths to boot (and softer fur, etc.)
He has a good time outside and everything is so dirty out there. You never realize just how dirty our environment is and how sloppy people are until you go walk you dog somewhere away from home.
But he also does get to smelling "doggy" too, not stinky "doggy" but still "doggy". LOL
so now that I have been reading more of the other posts, I am going to do some comparison shopping. A nearby breeder has the THK and a nearby veterinarian has the NV.
And now I'm wondering if I shouldn't be interviewing veterinarians, too. I'm with the current one because she is also the one that the breeder is using, and she also did the neutering on our rabbits. However, my cat goes to a different vet. And now I am really off topic.

I think it's VERY important to have a vet you trust and with whom you have a good relationship before you have are faced with emergency or an illness.
As far as raw feeding (or even better commercial foods than the junk in the waiting room) and vaccinosis go, my minimum requirement is that the vet respect my educated decisions on these matters and not try to bully or scare me. My current vet does not advocate raw feeding; however, she says "I cannot argue with these results." That will suffice.
