I just get an error "Unable to download an appropriate decompressor", but I liked to read the comments about training agility and how different it is from obedience. I've always wanted to try both with my female. She is very biddable and fast, and I'm sure she would love both. For someone starting out, who hasn't done either, which do you think is best to start out with?

Nice job. That dog is very nice. Wait until you are outside in the big area- you are going to have to RUN. Mals excel in this. I like Raine's focus, and toy drive. I have no doubts you will go very far. Fwiw, what I look for when starting a new dog is focus and toy drive, and keeping it UP UP UP. Short quick sessions. Good luck, and please keep us posted!

I am so clueless when it comes to agility I have been doing obedience for DECADES and Schutzhund for DECADES and I have to . She does fine, but I am a disaster. LOL
great video!!!

great song
I know nil about agility, so this is a very uninformed opinion. I watched an agility comp on tv the other day and most if not all of the dogs looked like they were just going through the motions on the course. Raine was moving with 10 times more power than the dogs I saw. If I can ever get half of the attention that Raine gives you I'll be happy.
Hey Mike,
I would bet most of the dogs doing agility are not high drive working K9's. I take classes with my dog, just for an activity, bonding, and to help her confidence.
One dog in our class, is a maniac bordercollie....he also is very quick and focused. Also has a high drive for toys, which is his reward for a job well done!!
WOW! That is awesome. I would love to get my GSD into agility as soon as I can. She's a smart dog and I know she would love it. Now, Raine is an amazing dog and you both looked great. Pretty cool that you got Ed to go with you to tape that session. Very awesome.
Isn't agility great fun? Now you know why I live for it! I love the spontaneity of it, and figuring out each "challenge" I come upon on course. I think a lot of the things we talk about in schutzhund (like drives) really play into agility, so I'm not surprised that Raine is doing so well. It's all about motivation!
