Your vet can send the x-rays directly to a radiology specialist for review. It's done all the time and sent through your vet's outside lab courrier. If the positioning was wrong they will be able to see that and I trust the radiologist a lot more than the vet to make that determination. You'll also probably get a faster answer this way.
Ed has x-rays on this site that demonstrate good and bad positioning and how good hips will fail if improperly positioned.
if you have a digital camera, take some pics of the xrays to keep for yourself, post on photobucket and maybe include a link on this site. when they have the films hung up on the lighted viewer, cover the flash with your thumb/finger to avoid flash glare. you may need to adjust the light/dark setting on the camera. this works very well. you can then share the pics with others and get opinions as well.

I am going this am and taking my digi cam with me. Ed suggested that I do that.
