SHOW ME WHERE.... I see nothing to that effect. They say there aren't enough loving homes to take care of all the animals there are out there, that's what I see. Prove me wrong and I will gladly admit my fault.
That was the reason I carefully selected a breeder who seemed to be "in it" out of a real love for GSD's.
From their own website: they're against breeders.
Just for the record...I have nothing against people not just blindly believing something. Do your own research.
*They do mention something on their website saying that while PETA does not believe in harming any animal, human or otherwise, there will often be a faction in any organization that believes in force*
I'm paraphrasing since I don't have it in front of me just now, but it's in their FAQ, I believe.

Edit reason: to add
Here is that quote from the f&q's
"The animal rights movement is nonviolent. One of the central beliefs shared by most animal rights activists is the belief that we should not harm any animal—human or otherwise. However, all large movements have factions that believe in the use of force." http://www.peta.org/about/faq.asp
(HOWEVER) As you can see there is always a however, butt, etc, etc.
IMO, these people need to find something better to do with their time, and go after people/places who actually really abuse animals. As far as killing animals to eat...umm we are Not Herbivores, were not meant to be...
Yes, I do believe that beating, torturing, etc an animal is wrong, but I think that Peta crosses the line way too far. (if i seen someone kicking or starving etc their animal i would do something, but if someone came at me because i gave a correction on a prong or used an e-collar, my dogs might have a new RAW diet, jk jk) Again, i rather see testing done on animals than humans .. if places kill thousands of rats etc and come up with a cure for a disease to SAVE US isnt it well worth it? Well, not to them, so I guess they should be used in testing...
"Their lives are restricted to human homes where they must obey commands and can only eat drink and even urinate when humans allow them"
"The selfish desire to possess animals & receive love from them causes immeasurable suffering, which results from manipulating their breeding, selling or giving away"
Stephanie, Read the Peta on Pets page link I have provided. If after reading that, you still question why we see them as at the very least silly & misguided, but at their worst very dangerous, then their is no help for you!
Ed: I'm sorry, but Stephanies' last statement implied you are closing this thread because you can't argue what she said. I am trying to show her nothing could be further from the truth, you just know how silly she is being.
i think the real reason ed wanted to close this thread (but apparently didn't) was because the type of person who starts something like this flamebait thread is generally the type of person who doesn't believe anything about peta that they didn't hear from peta (or a troll, take your pick).
OP: peta's transgressions are listed in numerous places, the website ed referenced being a striking example. i for one, won't pretend to take "ethical" advice from a group who loudly proclaims that animals are not ours for the purposes of entertainment or aesthetics, and yet has very obviously covered their website in pictures of such animals. peta's hypochrisy knows no bounds.
look at the peta section on this website. look at petakillsanimals.com. watch penn and teller's hilarious "bullshit" episode devoted to peta. if you still need to question "why" so many people in the dog training world have a distaste for peta, well then i don't know what to tell you.
OK - so everyone nows. THIS THREAD IS CLOSED !! Not one more post on PETA. There is something going on with the program tonight that I cant lock it.
But I can block anyone who posts to this thread - which I will do.
As fare as I am concerned 99.999% of Peta members are ass holes. I dont need their business anymore than I need the business from Saudi Arabia, or France or Nigeria or Syria.
