Hmm - I'll get my roommates and neighbors to help. She doesn't crotch-sniff familiar people, but when guests come over it's totally different. She's so ninja about it, runs up, leans on your leg, head up to be petted, starts sniffing your knees and then hip.. then BAM! CROTCH! Direct hit, then moves right along to your knee again.. Or she's SIT, then as you lean to pet her, she goes right for the crotch-sniff.
Full of trickery. >.>;
When I was training my female AmSt, I would make her wait at the top of the stairs so I could go down first and she follows behind me...well she got this very quickly but *giggle* she lets me know she is behind me by sticking her pointy little snout right up the tushy...quite an eye opener when wearing short sleep wear..
This is a pack structure issue with emphasis on STRUCTURE. Its through the application of structure that the dog is introduced to our rules. Its through the correct enforcement of our rules that the dog learns respect.
The rules are rules we choose as pack leaders. They are rules the dog must learn to live his life by. When he understands and accepts these rules he becomes calm and willing to learn.
When dogs run around and do unacceptable things (like sniff your crotch) they lack structure in their life and they have not yet accepted your rule - which is DONT SNIFF MY DAM CROTCH!!
So the solution needs to be for you to take this dog back to the point where you control every minute of his life. He is either in a crate or on a leash.
You on the other hand need to become a student of corrections. I don’t mean a student of the application of pain, I mean a student of all the ways to correct and control your dog (and there are many).
If you are small and the dog is big you should become a student of remote collars. When they are properly used there is little to no risk. Those who worry about the dog biting the crotch after a stimulation don't understand the training tool.
During this period there is no play. People should NEVER play with their dog until they have established pack structure and leadership.
