Thanks, I think she is adorable... I like to "mess" with names. For instance, I have a cat named Tweety Bird and another named Badger (because she bit me when she was a kitten). I have looked up different breeds of cows in attempt at a good "cattle dog" name, no luck. I have spent hours looking up names of different meanings but most are hard to pronounce. I also like cartoon names...Here are some names I kind of like:
Daphne Duck, Daffy for short
Bettiboo (for Betty Boop)
Smurfette (she's blue)
Smoogle (no idea, just made it up)
Zena (warrior princess)
Puca (celtic for little goblin)
But, I am not sure of her personality yet (only having her for 2 days), so it's hard to choose.
As for the frozen patties, do you know how long a 6# bag would last? I don't know what she weighs right now (I am guessing around 5 or 6 pounds). I was going to take her to the feed store today and weight her on the feed scale

sorry Connie, other things just come up in conversation. Where would this be discussed?
Not on this forum.
It's OK, everyone gets carried away........
This is a dog-training board, with some forums for health and nutrition and member bios, etc., but not so much for discussions of cute names or why our pets are adorable......
A 6# bag would last about 6 days for my 8 y/o 38# active Border Collie. I have no idea how much a pup is supposed to eat, but I'd think 6# should last you at a couple weeks right now. I'd find a few local pet supply/feed stores, and if they don't already carry it, ask them to consider selling it. In light of the recent pet food fiasco, I'd think that they'd be willing to try it out if they are not already selling it. That way it would simple for you to pick if up when needed.
Thanks Mara, I already have a local feed store that carries Natures Variety, and she is going to have the distributer call me. Do you supplement with anything else?
Actually, I do raw and use Natures Variety as a supplement occasionaly They've sent me a couple of BOGO email cupons, so use them to buy their lamb or venison raw. Those meats are more expensive for me to buy around here anyway, so I use NV to help add variety. I just figured out how much she would eat if I fed it exclusively to give you an idea of how much your pup might eat.
It is made up of about 95% meat, and does meet the AFCCO nutrient standards for both dogs and cats. If I fed it exclusively, I would not add any supplements except possibly fish oil.
