Many years ago, one of my dogs must have swallowed a bee that stung it in the dogs throat going down. I felt a little ridiculous when the vet told me the dog had swallowed a bee, but then the vet said I did the right thing bringing it in since a bee sting could cause the dog's throat to swell shut.
Then sometime later, a puppy I had must have gotten stung - I'm not really sure because she came shooting out from behind some wood that was leaning on the deck (my husband was building a portion of the deck at the time). I got her and calmed her down. I didn't find any stingers on her and she was fine after awhile, but that dog hated anything that buzzed afterwards.
I had a min-pin that decided eating a bee would be fun..
Not so much.
His face swelled up pretty bad, poor thing.
I don't know what my parents did to help him.. but it was fine within a few days.
I didn't notice any difference in his behavior, either.
He wasn't too much of a smart cookie, though.
Just a little goof.
