I could do with aome of your Salmon over here in Belgium
I bought two Salmon Steaks yesterda for Lunch, Weight 3 Ozs each, Cost $10.50 the two
No chance of feeding it to the Dogs, but they get Salmon Oil
Same as Raw. You cannot get what you want like Chicken Backs and Necks or you pay heavy for a similar cuts of Chicken etc Chicken legs and Wings, which is for Human Consumption from the Super Market
Every time i read about you people feeding Raw, it makes me envious, but i am still trying to find a source

friday/saturday and sunday morning in the slaughterhouses of Anderlecht you can get every part of lifestock at knockdown prices from head to tail and everything between
Goat, chicken, sheep, beef, pork etc.
reference price 1kg grounded meat (for spaghettie) 3.72 € last time i went.

I wouldn't worry about your salmon if you are freezing it. You have a great meal source for your dogs especially if you keep it whole for them or let them consume the organs and heads as well.
The salmonoid parasite that was is mentioned in the vetmed article only deals with fresh fish. The parasite is killed in 24 hours of the fish being frozen solid. A general rule of thumb for any wild meat is to freeze for 2 weeks to be sure all parasites are dead. The information that I have read always states that the parasite isn't as far north as Alaska. This was a concern for me being in California and knowing a commercial salmon fisher that I sometimes get fish from and feed the scaps to my dogs. The vessel fishes from California to Washinton where the salmonoid parasite is prevalent. If you have to much salmon I would be happy to help you open up some space in your freezer.

I thought it was kinda weird since mushers used to feed their dogs fish heads. And that's something you learned as a kid.
And, I guess the salmon would be fine, then, since it stays in the freezers year-round, and gets replenished every summer.
They're filleted, so no guts or heads or even any bones are left.. skins are still there. Maybe in the next coming summers I'll nab some up and seal 'em. Would make use of the hundreds of guts we throw away.
And I need to try and get ahold of my dad.. if his cell phone even gets reception. A moose liver and heart or two would be a good deal, wouldn't it?
No bads on moose meats, is there?

I know some people that feed stuff like venison and rabbit fresh, it is a personal choice. I always just feed game after it has been frozen for atleast 2 weeks, usually longer since I like to feed older food in my freezer first. You could check with fish and game where the animal was taken with any concerns you may have about parasites or viruses. Moose liver and heart would be great. I feed heart as nutrient dense muscle meat and not an organ.

Yeah, lots of sites I've gone to considered the heart muscle and not organ.
But with all the meat we normally get, we never use it all, or give it all away.
So this would be a good outlet for that food, as well.
I'll look on fish and game's website for info, and if that fails, just call them up.
