Speaking of decoys, do a lot of decoys use helmets with their bitesuits, the kind that covers your neck and face? Asking cause I saw a horrible picture of someone who got bit in the neck/face.
Your assessment and comments on Josh's Video were OVERLY critical. Josh has got the right idea...He is going through a learning curve that EVERYONE experiences.
I have seen it done. I think it depends on a LOT of things. Of course the safest way to do it is to get a bite helmet (There are some made just for bite work.) For the most part i think it depends on the level of the decoy and how the dog acts.
I am not sure if your asking me or telling me if it was overly critical. In my opinion no i wasn't, in your opinion it would seem i was. Yes Josh does have the right idea and i am sure he will do well. Was i blunt in my warning about what can happen if you don't rotate with the dog? Yes. I am sure by now Josh will see that i wasn't aiming at being insulting more of letting him know to rotate with the dog for the dogs health.
Yeah, it's the bite helmet, the one that James posted a link to, that I was talking about. I saw one advertised on a site and dumb me scrolled below to see a pic of someone who didn't use one. That vision, unfortunately, is still in my mind. That injury rather blew my mind, being that it was on a decoy and for sport, not in real life on a "bad guy".
ahhhhhh! That's the one I saw....thank you James
Yeah, Mike, that's the website. Actually I'm assuming it was a sports decoy, since they were pushing a bite helmet. If it was a bad guy, then I don't feel sorry for him (I'm bad).
