I have a new addition coming around the time of the picinic and would rather pick him up than fly him if I can get around it.....I am looking at travelling to get him also.

...Oh WE can meet; Caleb and Lear just can't!
Agreed! I've just figured that the only dogs Lear will ever really meet are dogs that in the future come to live with us. Till then it's enough he behaves calmly, sitting, on leash around others.
Good article. I won't go so far as to say Hans can tell time, but he goes to the front door every day about the time my wife should get home, and if he is late he whimpers and whines a little.

Jenni, what you said about Caleb and the tennis ball/stick. That sure does strike a chord with me. I cannot even remember how many times I've spoken to CeeCee or Harley in a conversational tone of voice...no command...and had them do what I suggested. Example, "CeeCee, it sure is chilly in here, why don't you go lay down in your sunbeam?". She looks at me, cocks her head, and then strolls on over to the beam and flops down. "Harley, the bunney went behind the bush by the bird feeder" There goes Harley, straight for that particular bush. And on and on.
