I need a new dog crate asap after my younger dog got out twice from her plastic crate in a matter of 12 hours. This caused two dog fights between her and the older shepherd. I was there to break it up each time and she only breaks out when I am around with the older dog out.
Hm..."# MP - 500 Military Police Crate / Dark Gray"
Yeah we don't use those so i wonder where they are getting the Military Police part.
We use Veri Kennels and they are fine. Light weight and durable. Simple as that. I find the metal crates are bulky and get damaged easily if moved around a lot. Now if it is a percent installment (put in a room and never moved) then fine.

A friend of mine has one and they are nice actually. Lightweight and durable. I just do not like the visibility factor. It is pretty limited.
I used it for a while and besides the visibility, it needs a non-slip piece of carpet, cedar plank inserts or something since the dogs seemed to slide around quite a bit.
I am considering product #1105 or #1113 from LB. Which reminds me, I need to measure my new rig since I would like to get three of them.
I use vari-kennels also, but I like the locking features since my dogs are valuable to me.
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
I have the Deluxe Vari-Kennel, the problem with it is she busted the locking mechanism (which I took apart and fixed) and now she actually cracked the metal frame on the door from pushing it (the thicker outer metal portion of the door frame). I could easily just get a new door for the crate, but she will most likely do the same thing again. Where she cracked the metal, it is not on a weld or anything so she just fatigued the metal by pushing so hard on the locking mechanism.
The metal crate would be for home only (well most likely). I just can't take the chance of her getting out when I'm not there. She is fine during the day when I am not home or if someone else is here during her crating hours.
Just a quick hint on the vari kennel doors- If you know someone who can weld- weld a piece of 1/2 inch square tubing along the hinge on the OUTSIDE of the door ,do the same on the side where latch mechanism is make sure that you have enough clearance for latch to operate. This will stiffen the door so the dogs can't flex it enough to break out.
I've had 3 escape artists. This completly stopped them from breaking the doors. I had my little angels break 3 doors on a weekend. one would pull the door in the other would push it out. So I did this out of necessity on a weekend.
You still may need to get an aluminum crate especially if they start to tear out the side. best of luck .
