I think the biggest reason why people do not do it, is because of the old train of thought.
I know growing up, my parents told me, if you are making eggs, and you get some of the shell in with the food, dig it out you can't eat that. It will make you sick.
Now I flip that one around on them...... " Mom, if you get some kibble in the the raw dog food by accident, dig it out, it will make them sick"

I've been giving my dog the shell and like most, I break it in the dog dish. After reading this thread I'm going to give my dog a whole egg & see how he deals with it.
TED: Your little pup ain't so little any more! The dog looks great in your signature picture.
Good question Ted. I read this thread yesterday and last night I put a whole, uncracked egg in with my GSD's kibble. He licked it a little, then rolled the egg around while he ate the kibble. After the kibble was gone, I walked over and told him to pick up the egg. He picked it up and looked at me waiting for his next command...then the egg cracked. I didn't have to tell him what to do after that. He even ate most of the shell. I never would have thought to feed the entire egg. This forum is a wonderful living reference tool.
Thanks.
