Here's an update. Yesterday during the late afternoon he didn't have any bowel movements, but a couple of hours later he let me know he had to go, and when he went it was all watery (no blood, though).
He woke me up every 2 hours last night. He went a total of 6-7 times. The stools smelled *very* bad, to the point of making me gag (he went a couple of times in my building hallway, so I had to clean it). Also, they were kind of explosive, releasing farts along the way. No sign of the plastic thing I thought he ate.
He went for the last time at 6 AM, and has been sleeping since (almost 9 am), so I think his stomach is no longer upset. Since the plastic thing didn't come out, I'm really not sure if he ate it after all. He definitely ate something he shouldn't have.
So, boiled chicken and rice, with lots of water or fast with lots of water? Some fruit maybe?
He doesn't look weak or dehydrated (he just woke up).
Thanks a lot.

Since this is Friday, I'd probably schedule a vet appt towards the end of today, just in case. If he seems fine for the rest of the morning/early afternoon, you can cancel it. If he still has the symptoms (water, explosive diarrhea, etc) by the time your appt time rolls around, I'd take him. Just my opinion. (I'm not sure about what to feed/not feed, and I don't want to give you bad advice). Hope he feels better soon!

Richard, it's possible for the dog to have diarrhea and still have an obstruction (the diarrhea kind of sneaks around the blockage)
Were his bm's formed?

The last ones had a bit of form, but they were watery enough that if he did have an obstruction, it would go through it.

OK, Richard - since the last couple of posts, I've changed my mind. I would take him to the vet for sure. I would rather err on the side of caution and spend the $ on an office visit, than wait and wish I had. You have no idea how many animals I helped euthanize at the vet clinic I worked at, b/c people waited too late to take them in for things that could have been caught early on, just b/c they underestimated how serious a situation was, or the people who had no business having a pet (you are NOT one of these - please don't misunderstand) didn't want to pay $21.00 for an office visit. I can see you are a very loving and responsible pet owner, but I'd hate for you to "keep an eye on him" too long, and have something bad happen. Just my 2 cents. I'll shut up now. LOL!

At the very least, Richard, I'd give your vet a call today. Describe everything that has transpired in the last few days and ask them for an opinion (a responsible vet usually won't tell you to "wait and see" if they truly think it COULD be serious, but my old vet was pretty good about telling me if they thought we could put off an office visit for a day or 2, plus they might have some extra signs to look for that would give you some clues as to his condition) - I don't know what kind of a relationship you have with your vet, but it can't hurt to call!
Hang in there Ruy!

I just watched an episode of Animal Planet where every case was about the animals swallowing something. Some cases resulted in surgery.
One case was a ferret that chewed up a large pencil eraser. The Vet used pumpkin (leerburg recommends this frequently for other things) to get things moving. And it worked.
Perhaps some pumpkin might help?

He slept all morning. When he woke up at noon, he was very hungry and acting normal. I gave him some boiled chicken breast with some rice. I then took him to the park and his stool was solid!
I'm assuming that if the stool was solid, there is no obstruction? Like I said from the very beginning, I never saw him eating the plastic thing I'm referring to, but since it wasn't there, I thought he ate it. I guess he either digested it, or he ate some old chicken or something which made him sick.
Anyway, I'll be keeping a close eye on him. Any sign of sickness and I'll take him to the vet. I really hate going there.
Thanks for the advice and support. Always appreciated.

Yay! I am so relieved - it's funny, but I've been worrying about your dog all day long! It's funny how you can get attached to an animal just by looking at their pic often enough! LOL! Hooray for poop! LMAO!!
Congrats on your dog's solid stool! ;-)
BTW - is that some kind of iguana Ruy is checking out in the pic? I've been wondering....
