the Estonian dog kennel association told my secretary (when she was calling around asking about where to find good meat for a good price) "never to feed a dog bones and NEVER feed a dog meat - it will only give them diarrhea."
"So I'm curious about some negative reactions you folks have gotten from friends, family, or random strangers when they see or you tell them how you train/feed/walk/whatever your dog. The more ridiculous, the better."
That particular subject has been beaten to death around here, plenty of threads about that very thing

Hi, Ashley,
I know this would be a great opening gambit on many forums..... but not this one. NO OFFENSE! Just letting you know that we focus on asking dog questions and getting answers, as much as possible.
Yes, we stray.
But let's not START a thread with an invitation to talk about non-training and non-health issues.

If i was to go into a store and be verbally abused, then i would have that person up in front of there Boss and he could then put the prong collar on his employee,
No way would i allow myself to be spoken in any form of bad manners, Courtesy costs nothing, And The Customer is always Right' even if one may think they are wrong

Agreed.
And the truth of the matter is that (I am guessing) 99% of the sales help know pretty much zero about canine nurition.
Not sure how I would bring it up (if at all).

"People think prong collars are inhumane. So I did not call them pinch or prong collars, I called them Live Savers. "Can I show you the life saver collars we have?" That interests them into following you.. and usually they will become confused .. why did you call that a life saver collar? And so begins the pitch."
THAT sounds like something I would not be offended by and might listen to. :>

Is it a chain store? Or privately owned? If its privately owned why not try to convince your boss to carry high quality foods that you dont have a moral problem selling to people? Try carrying some pro raw books or Wysongs book about the pet food industry. Just a thought.
ESPECIALLY when prefaced with the fact that it's a fast-growing market! :>

If anything, I am angry that vets are even allowed to make any recommendation on feeding animals when they themselves have no real education in that area.
