She went from MAJOR accident this morning to perfect bowel movement just now. This is the very first good, normal bowel movement she has had on raw food.
Now should we keep going as we have been?
Common sense tells me yes, but I would like everyone's opinion.
On raw? Then yes.
Be careful not to overfeed, which can trigger diarrhea in some dogs just as fast as a sudden change or a lot of fat can.
(If you need to do three small meals for a while, then I would do that.)
I think digestive enzymes might be a helpful thing in this case, to help her build up the necessary stuff in her stomach and intestines to break the good food down and not get overloaded with bacteria or ickies which could cause the trots.
Also does she get any probiotics or yogurt?
Always helpful.
I should do an add campaign for a probiotic company, or the Keifer I Buy... im pushy with my beneficial bacteria!!!
Yes I have read it, I wont go without them for myself, they make a huge difference in how I feel.
My skin is better, my hair is better, and other stuff is way better.
They literally saved Nico's Life when she was over run with yeast systemically and topically.
The probiotics combined with raw and some extra supplements took her from a hairless miserable stinky scabby mess to a bright happy girl in a ridiculously short amount of time.
I never thought she would see 6 much less 12.
This morning she was giving Loki a lesson from the school of hard knocks, tackling him and holding him down, and butting him with her chest and barking and growling at the top of her lungs while she did it. They were both having so much fun and the fact she is doing well enough to bounce around a strapping 2 yr old male amazes me, she outweighs him by about 30 lbs but age and a little flab have to be accounted for too.

I apologize for not answering your question. I had some questions about digestive enzymes and saw where I missed it.
Yes, I do give a probiotic. Now. I neglected to give it at the beginning of the switch.
As far as the digestive enzymes, do you have to by them specifically for dogs? Or will the ones in the health section at the store be O.K.?
She is still doing better. Good poops for the most part. Still an occasional brush of the runs. I just have to remember to get all the x-tras off the backs before she gets them.
