What about Alfalfa and Kelp powder? Doesn't that have a bunch of minerals and such that won't be there in veggies that are raised in worn-out ground? I feed mine a 50/50 mix of powdered Kelp and Alfalfa, about a tablespoon each for the big dogs and a teaspoon for the little one at least 3 times a week. Pache, my rescue gsd used to eat rocks and dirt too for a couple of months after we got him but I don't have to worry about it much now....he seems to have let it go as he's gotten healthier. Besides keeping a close eye on them and keeping them tired I think it may just take some time for the real food diet to kick in and their bodies have a chance to repair themselves. JMHO
