It sounds like your trainer has a problem with boundaries. If you find what he sent you that offensive, then get rid of him. While he may be a good dog trainer, he's not the ONLY good dog trainer and I'm sure there are plenty out there that aren't going to try to bring you into their "cult."
It just seems to me that regardless of what his views are, you've lost confidence in him and this will take your attention away from the specifics of training your dog and your ability to learn from him.
I would also tell the guy why you're dumping him. You certainly have no obligation to do that, but I like to let people know about what they've done to lose my business.
I admit to being really curious what this was that he sent you!
Thank you, all. I appriciate your advice; it is much better to let people who aren't enraged by the situation take a look. I have decided I am not going back. The problem is I have already paid for the class...oh well...
The subject matter is not repugnant on face. It is political propaganda that I severly disagree with. Not just someone supporting ObamaMcBushHillary, (or whatever creature we get this time) but also not porn or gruesome photos. It is the viewpoint that is repugnant to me, and I am bothered by it. I am also floored that this type of material was sent to me by my dog trainer. I shouldn't have to tell him that this is way out of bounds! <---- I hate to use these! But sometimes they are useful!
And, Randy, I am also very easygoing. I don't feel it is my place to activly preach to anyone who I encounter. Now if you ask my opinion...you may want to grab a seat!
you gotta do what's best for you and your dog, if you are disturbed by this it will probably be hard to focus during class. So now you and your dog lose out on training. Unfortunatly with religon and politics some people feel a need to share their views with all whether you want it or not. This worked out bad for him, he lost a customer and maybe more if others feel this way. Good for you
