Gosh, Steve, I don't know. Haven't read their info. I have develped my own system based on what I have learned and what the dogs have shown me. I've had a lot of great teachers and some bad ones too. Great clients and some bad ones too. Bad luck and good luck too. I am very passionate about what I do and very very BLESSED. I learn every day, some days more than others. When I stop learning, then I need to quit, lololololo.
I'll have to check out Tri tronics manual.
Happy Training!
Roni
Valerie;
I also have used the collar for genetic and situational DA. I am so happy that your dog is doing well. I think dogs really do well when the messages that we send them are very clear!!!!!!
Great Job!!!!

Thanks Roni, I love my little Pit Bull...and I love my Dogtra too!!!!!!
I DO NOT use the collar as an adversive while I am teaching. That is just something that I choose not to do. I find most people are substituting the e collar for a pinch collar correction. Does it work. Yep. I like
the Dogtra units because I can fine tune the stim to not interrupt the dog's thought process, but i can deliver a rythemic
pulse, in conjunction with a primary reinforcer and body language
to teach.
Is this process during the learning phase? What is a "primary reinfrocer?"

I can then use an e collar later in the proofing stage of dog training, once the dog completely understands the command.
Rick;
A primary reinforcer is defined as something that the subject wants, example, food or a toy or water.
A secondary reinforcer is defined as something that doesn't have any value to the subject.
In training, if you pair a primary with a secondary, the secondary takes on value. For instance, pairing food with a word, gives value to the word.
Ahha, that is the subject of my seminars. Seriously, Rick, seeing is believing. I have found that personal instruction is best as my methodology of training is based on the individual dog, his drives, genetics, past experience and tempermanent.
I take training very seriously and don't want to give you anything but complete information.

Are you saying that the "rythmic pulse" changes based on those different factors, or the entire method of training?
I have developed the way I train based upon what the "dog brings to the table". Each dog deserves to be treated individually, the method can be the same, just geared to the individual.
