Day two. She ate this morning. Seemed to like it. Ate about half of it and then pulled it out of the bowl (you know how it kind of sticks together) and finished it.
This afternoon she threw up. Not a lot and it was several hours after feeding. This could have been due to being outside longer. We have nice weather again today, so I took her on a long walk and let her have free time outside when we got back. Whadda ya think?
So far, so good. Actually with the raw hamburger and the raw turkey, this is the first time she has actually finished all that was in her bowl.
So, as to the amount. If I expect her to go about 10-12 lbs when she is grown, do I need to feed her 5 - 12 oz per day? Split into two meals. Right?

Throwing up the first raw meal generally means one of two things:
Too much food or too much fat.
Since you gave ground white poultry, that leaves too much food (for the first meal).
If I were going by 10 pounds (future weight), I'd call it 4 to 5 ounces and I'd split it between two meals (160 ounces times 2.5%).
If I were going by present puppy weight, I'd go with weight times 5% to weight times 10%. Again, I get 4 to 5 ounces (if I am remembering her present weight correctly at 5 pounds).
How did you get 5 to 12 ounces? Maybe I just need more coffee.

Conne, thanks so much. I swear, I can't remember anything the right way anymore. I'm gonna have to print off some of this stuff so I can refer to it every day. Maybe I need coffee, too.
I thought I read in Cindy's Q&A that if you are feeding a puppy, it should be 5 - 10% of their anticipated weight. This dog should go 10 - 12 lbs when grown, hence 5oz (low end) to 12 oz. I think she is more 6-7 lbs right now, I haven't weighed her (don't have a scale). But I think that is a good guess.
I gave her about 4 oz this am. And, like I said, she didn't throw up until several hours later and a long walk. Whadda ya think?

ps
She also threw up yesterday (just a teaspoonful) at the park, but I thought maybe she had picked something off the ground and didn't really think about it.

I believe that it's 5 to 10% of their present weight or 2 to 3% of their adult "gonna be" weight. However, puppy folks will respond.
But say 6.5 pounds now; 5% of that is 5.2 ounces.

Well, if you exercised her immediately after eating, that could trigger vomiting (and isn't a good idea on any diet).
Here is what I would do. (Remember I said that I go to all kinds of lengths to make the transition comfortable for the dog? This is another example. ) I would give her three small meals for a day or two, and also keep the daily intake at the low end of the appropriate amount for her for a full day, maybe two.
I have a senior dog who throws up with every new food, no matter what it is. I have learned that any new thing has to be introduced to his gut by the tablespoon.

Crap, Connie. I just realized what I did. I was taken 10% of the lb when a pound is 16oz, not 10 oz. If that doesn't make any sense then just realize that someone has been hitting me with a stupid stick.
Yes, I have over fed her. I just took her out again and she threw up again. Not heaves and heaves, just a little, but now it is twice today.
Should I not feed her again tonight?
So, about 2oz per feeding times two, right?

Well, with the corrected present weight, I come up with about 2.5 ounces times 2 = 5 ounces.
And I would indeed fast her tonight, since her gut is a little upset.
Overfeeding is dealt with quickly by many dogs in the form of diarrhea and/or vomiting.

I'd stick with white poultry with no skin, too, for a couple of days, since her gut is now a little bit upset. Give it time to calm down completely.

Thanks, again, Connie.
I didn't take her on a walk right after feeding. It was a couple of hours. So, it all still points to the over feeding. I probably gave her twice as much as I should have. I also gave her about 4 oz of the hamburger yesterday morning.
I am using the ground white turkey meat 85/15.
I've also given her a peanut butter kong today.
