What a cowardly SOB. He must really feel like a man, inflicting torture on an animal. He deserves the same treatment he gave this poor dog. Lowlife scum piece of trash.
This was probably not the first time this jerk did this, just the first time he was filmed. Since the dog has probably been subjected to this treatment before and didn't kill the guy when he had a chance says more about the character of the dog than this sorry excuse for a human being.
He probably hasn't and won't feel or confess any remorse, so I hope he reaps what he sows. Yeah, I'm that mad.
I don't know a whole lot about dogs, but the thing that makes me the most upset is that this dog will probably not hold a grudge against his "partner" for doing this and go on "serving".
There are three constants in life: Death, taxes and the love of a dog.

I can see someone trying to make that connection not knowing from reading the same article. Big difference though in the article and in what that guy did though, there shouldn't be an comparison.
I know some dogs are just plain dominate bordering on ornery and can be extremely handler aggressive, when utilizing highly motivating prey items. I've only seen one dog helicoptered and then hung until it choked out. It's not a pretty sight for the meek .. Though that dog did come up the leash and nailed the handler hard on the shoulder (drew blood etc) for basically an out issue again.
Did this dog I witnessed helicoptered and hung deserve that level of correction from it's handler? Probably so, as there is some fights that a handler can't afford to lose. What would happen to that dogs attitude had it been led to believe that it could get away with nailing his handler like he did?
As for the video in question .. Does the guy deserve to lose his job? I see a guy trying to control a situation and losing his temper. Letting that cloud his judgement. Lose his job maybe, maybe not ... Though if he does regain his job he shouldn't be posted back to a K9 unit. That just sets a precedent that is totally unethical. Shouldn't matter much now any ways as the whole unit was disbanded yesterday after the testimony of other officers during Jones reinstatement hearing stating that they all used similar techniques ...
I know they are not Golden Retrievers but ... come on boys, there has to be a better way.
