Ok, I'm not crazy, there is NO edit option on my original post. I can edit my subsequent posts, but the edit option doesn't show up on my first post.
If there is a moderator who feels the need to remove the web address, then please do. Anyone who is interested can PM me instead.

The edit option is only available for a short period after you post a message. I think it's set at 10 minutes.
It also disappears after the message is replied to or if another message is added to the thread.

Got it, thanks.
Well, that's a bummer for me because I always find my grammar or punctuation errors much later and can't stand not to fix them LOL. I guess I'll have to start using the preview feature.

By the way, that is a beautiful dog in your signature picture. Don’t see them often enough… I hope she is not the one you lost…

Annette, there's nothing wrong with posting the link to your site. Your initial post was somewhat misleading (albeit unintentionally). You posted about starting a club, but then linked to the business, and it wasn't clear which you were trying to tell us about.
As the site has no info about the club, it only compounded my misunderstanding.
Two options to avoid the problem in the future are to A) have an email that you don't mind getting spammed, or B) just advise interested parties to send you a PM to get contact info.
Thanks for clearing up my confusion though, and good luck with the new club.

Betty, one day soon we will be getting back to traveling and trialing, we will look you up next time we head south! We always had a great time when we visited other clubs.
Jessica, yep that's the dog I just lost. I miss her a thousand times a day so I am currently just enjoying working with our new members dogs. I can't count how many times Mike or I will say to a student, "Let me show you how to do this," and then realize Java isn't here to demo something. While she never got beyond the SchHB, Mike and I worked her constantly for demo purposes and I have no doubt she would have gotten her 1 and 2, and Mike said she could have done a 3 as well. Timing was everything though, and I found out I was pregnant with our daughter about the time I was going to do the 1 and then ended up on bedrest for 5 months. Then I had a newborn and a toddler and time for working my dog went way down the list. She didn't care though, she had a blast doing demos for clients and K9 units, so she had a great life.
There are a few breeders I am in contact with and will hopefully get a new one soon. Luckily the breeders I'm working with all knew her and know what I'm looking for.
Oh, and my first Schutzhund dog was my first Rottweiler. I didn't title him either, I had to go to college, but I learned alot about training and patience with that dog.
I look back now and feel bad for him, boy I was inept and he just forgave and was happy to work some more. I was lucky to have him for my starter dog, that's for sure.
Another pic of my Java dog, I'm shameless LOL. This pic was taken when she was 13 years old and about 2 weeks before she died. The cute helper is my husband, Mike .

Wow! She looks nothing like a dog that was ready to leave you within weeks . I am so sorry for your loss. She looked eager and happy. Good luck finding a pup to help you remember her and what she was for you.
Quinn is my first ‘official’ SCH dog. He is great and I KNOW he will go far. And the bond we have is great, perfect for all of the handler errors…
Please post soon in the members bio area with what sounds like quite a journey!

Hello, another new member here,
I would be the husband of the original poster. I will have to take the blame for the confusion at our web site since I am the author. Much of the information is dated. I hope to have the new site up soon. There will be a special page on the site for the DVG club explaining that it is not a part of the business. There will also be a page for K9 Police Officers, as we are working with them to form a club/support group that can provide perpetual resources for the growing K9 units in the area. We hope the "schutzhund" enthusiasts, K9 officers, and any other interested dog enthusiasts will unite to create a community to benefit all.
A dog club/schutzhund club similar to what exists in Germany has been our dream for many years. The reality of trying to have and maintain 12 expensive acres, a club building, kennels etc. has moved us to the place we are in. The money it takes to support such a venture has to come from some where. We started as a USA Schutzhund Club many years ago. We spent the last 10 years working on the physical property, building etc. We have also devoted a great deal of time to applying, and we hope improving on, what we learned about dog training from Schutzhund clubs and training police K9 units. We think of the business as a vehicle to our dog club and K9 Unit support efforts not the other way around.
Yes, I am the off leash nut. I have become devoted to using natural canine drives to motivate dogs so that they work willingly and enthusiastically off leash. I spent the majority of my free hours as a youngster roaming woods and neighborhoods with a German Shepherd, no leashes, no collars, no formal training no problems. I guess I am dating myself here, but in my mind we loose something in our relationships with our dogs when we lean on our leashes and training collars too hard. For me, I miss that "something" and I mean to get it back! I am amazed at how much I learn at an off leash park every day. It's not actually like work at all ;-)

The new club sounds awesome. I will keep checking the website for the information on the DVG club.
