I use my collar alot for water work. I use a tritronics sport series and I love it. It's waterproof, has a great range, and gives a excellent stim on 10 levels. I also like that the remote looks like a walkie talkie which fits well on my hand.

My dog is both collar and remote wise. I do the same thing as Rich. If he is acting stupid while I'm watching TV, I just hold the TV remote and he immediately settles right down.
I've heard that you can prevent the dog become "remote wise", by simply carrying and pressing the buttons at random times, collar on and off, even long before the dog receives his first stim.
Now would be a good time to start, Eric, before Cleo actually begins wearing/you being using the collar.
Decided on the Dogtra 1900NCP. It arrived a few days ago and Cleo's been wearing it off and on (still haven't charged it up) so she won't get collar wise. Never thought about the remote; glad you guys brought that up. I will start carrying the remote as Alyssa suggested. We will start with the live collar in a couple of weeks.
