My favorite walks with my dogs are either in the rain or the snow. As long as I am dressed for it, it's great. They are wash and wear...
the ONLY time I put any coats on my dogs is when the temps get way below zero and we go snowshoeing. The GSDs don't need a coat, but the mals don't really have the undercoat and when it hits about 10 below they are visibly cold.
I dislike walking out in the rain because it makes my hair sticky! I enjoyed walking in the snow with my previous dogs, but we don' thave much snow in Tucson. When I lived in Tenn, we had snow. It was blast.
By the way.. I love taking dogs to dry riverbed and exploring things around in the desert. I think they enjoy doing that especially looking for wild rabbits to chase.
